Remote and Nimble Teamwork

Remote & Nimble Teamwork

Due to the pandemic and changing needs of the university, we were asked to create a video presentation in lieu of the usual in-person version for the Mays Business School’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion’s yearly Accountability Report. We were working with a shorter project time-span than would have been optimal, but because of some in-depth pre-work, we were set up for success.

One of many planning boards we used on mural.co

Description: We started this project with the intent of creating an in-person presentation, but we were able to pivot to create a video quickly. We used virtual whiteboards from mural.co to work collaboratively, remotely, and quickly with clients and within the team.

Outcomes: Along with a call out from the university, we assisted in securing increased funding for Diversity and Inclusion programming at Mays.
We were also able to use various cuts from this video for additional communications and development needs throughout the year. It was created in such a way that we are able to simply pull out individual sections as needed.

So what did I learn?

In this project, a big takeaway was that I need to remember to take a step back and better assess team members’ skills. I should have not been the one at the studio with Dean Ireland. Another team member is an incredibly talented photographer, and would have been a super star coach for on camera talent.
